Digital Fingerprinting

Digital fingerprinting involves creating a unique identifier for a device using its hardware characteristics. This fingerprint is then used to bind a software license to that specific system.

Common components include CPU IDs, motherboard serials, and disk information. This ensures that a license cannot be copied and used on unauthorized devices, and supports secure, device-specific licensing models.

iLok Licensing uses hardware fingerprinting as the foundation of its node-locked license model, ensuring secure and accurate machine-based authorization. While White-Box Works provides the building blocks to implement secure device fingerprinting.
