GLOSSARY TERM

Anti-Debugging

Anti-debugging techniques are designed to prevent or detect the use of debugging tools during software execution. These tools are often used by attackers to analyze or tamper with protected applications.

Strategies include checking for breakpoints, detecting debugger-related processes, or using timing checks to identify abnormal execution patterns. When debugging is detected, the software may alter its behavior, exit, or trigger security routines.

Fusion by PACE integrates anti-debugging defenses directly into the runtime, helping prevent code inspection and memory analysis by unauthorized tools.
