JUCE is used to develop many AAX audio plug-ins. These often run within Avid’s Pro Tools workstation. For plug-ins to run within Pro Tools, they must be signed by PACE’s AAX Code Signing Tools. This identifies them as trustworthy to the end user as they must come from a known developer and be unmodified since they were published. Developers wishing to sign plug-ins for Pro Tools should start by contacting Avid through their developer program.
The iLok License Management Platform provides license checks for wrapped software binaries. When a wrapped binary runs it will securely verify that the user has a license to use the software. If a license isn’t present, the developer can choose how the product is disabled. As the software publisher, you can easily deliver licenses to your users via activation codes, PACE’s Shopify app, or API calls.
